GIVE - The Book

Melissa Bowden

Give - written by Melissa Bowden & Illustrated by Jessica Wong

What does it mean to give?

A boy hugging a bear, a girl with a sieve, a man with one glove and a lady with a pet dove help answer the important question of what it really means to give.

100% of profits from GIVE will be donated to support children's charities. Find out more below.

From the founder of A Circle Back Melissa Bowden and talented artist and surface designer Jessica Wong comes Give, a book to treasure.

A funny, whimsical and poignant celebration of what it truly means to give.

Celebrate thoughtfulness and compassion! Through questions asked by a variety of characters Melissa's playful text and Jessica's intricate artwork show children that the key to giving comes from the heart.

A book to keep and Give will be a wonderful addition to any young readers shelves!

Rocking Horse - https://www.rockinghorse.org.uk/

As Pop-Up #2 is in Brighton this Christmas and being from Sussex myself, Rockinghorse seemed like the perfect charity to support.

Sussex giving for Sussex children.

Rockinghorse is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) where they raise money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, while ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs. The charity also support the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.

"We believe no matter where they are, children should always be allowed to be children." - Rockinghorse

Working in partnership with the Alex, TMBU and SCBU, they strive to make services stimulating, cutting edge and accessible for the many babies, children and teenagers who need them. The charity does not receive any government funding and so they rely on the generous support of individuals, community groups, companies and trusts.

Found out about all their fantastic projects here.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity - https://www.gosh.org/

Jessica and I are both from London and it's important to us to also support the tireless work of GOSH for children across the UK.

Then, Now, Always.

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments.

Despite the greatest challenges a child can face, the hospital is a place where being sick does not always mean being sad. And it’s a place where you’ll find – today and every day – some of the bravest people you could ever meet.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, and every day is a chance to make a difference.

Experience one day at GOSH by watching the video below:

With thanks to...

L&S Printing

for their help making this book come to life and generous support printing the book so the maximum amount can be given to charities. Also for bearing with me whilst I learnt what crop marks and dpi's were!

It's a luxury to have been able to produce something which can give to these important charities.  It's even better that it has been accompanied by such wonderful character depictions which makes it look so professional.

A huge thank you to Jess for realising the story in such a beautiful way.

Purchase prints for your home from her wonderful company Homebody Gang here.
